SFI Standard
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) offers producers a good, competitive range of references for evaluating the chain of custody and the labelling system that provides clients with information and assurances as to the origin and authenticity of the forest products offered.
This standard is recognized by the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). In fact, it is possible to obtain joint SFI-PEFC certification by combining the PEFC requirements with those of the SFI to obtain joint authorization to use the SFI forest product labels as well as those of the PEFC, which are highly recognized in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia.

Certification Offer
The chain of custody and forest product labelling certification is a monitoring system the tracks wood fibre through the various stages of manufacturing. It is available to businesses, manufacturers, brokers and printers that have a process for tracing certified forest fibre content through production and manufacturing to the end product. The SFI fibre sourcing certification enables businesses to make claims regarding the proportion of the content of their products that originates from certified land or responsible fibre sources, or that is post-consumer recycled content.
This certification program is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada.
