Standard ASTM F2881
Specification for 12 to 60 in. [300 to 1500 mm] Polypropylene (PP) Dual Wall Pipe and Fittings for Non-Pressure Storm Sewer Applications
Polypropylene, flexible yet strong, is one of the most versatile materials available. Notably, it is used to fabricate sewer pipe required to present standardized characteristics for production quality assurance. This was the purpose of standard CAN/CSA B182.13, which more specifically identifies the requirements governing profile polypropylene (PP) sewer pipe and fittings for leak-proof sewer applications. Profile pipe includes open profile pipe sizes NPS-12 to NPS-30 and closed profile pipe size NPS-30 to NPS-60 with smooth inside surfaces and nominal dimensions based on the measured inside diameter. Both open and closed profile pipe have an annular construction but are not compatible or interchangeable due to structural differences in profile geometry.

Certification Offer
For clients, the use of certified pipe is a guarantee of quality. It therefore offers manufacturers an undeniable competitive advantage to have their profile polypropylene (pp) sewer pipe and fittings for leak-proof sewer applications certified by the BNQ. The certification program requirements are set out in four documents, including the BNQ 3624-913 certification protocol. The BNQ 3624-913 protocol establishes the certification requirements, procedural rules and marking requirements applicable to the certification of profile polypropylene (pp) sewer pipe and fittings for leak-proof sewer applications in accordance with the requirements of CAN/CSA B182.13. It is intended for pipe manufacturers interested in having the BNQ recognize the conformity of their pipe and for clients who wish to use the certification protocol. To have their pipe certified, manufacturers must show that they comply with the requirements of the BNQ certification program.
